Originally trained as a professional chef, Ian has honed his creative talents on cruise ships, in 5-star hotels and most recently as personal chef to an Academy Award-winning actor. In web development, Ian found another outlet for his creative side and after being professionally trained in this area, he now focuses full time on supporting the marketing and promotional efforts of the busy and successful Andrews Group team.
Through Ian's direction and attention, each of the Andrews Group properties gets a distinctive, custom-created media and marketing plan. As well as Marketing Director, Ian supports a wide variety of areas of the business which don't have a title but are so critical (computer support, handyman, sign maker, maintenance manager). Having contracted 3 renovations during their marriage, Ian also brings a strong background of understanding building construction and maintenance as well as local municipal bylaws and codes — a huge asset few consider when choosing an agent.
When not working 7 days a week in the family business, Ian is a keen sports car enthusiast and has raced formula cars at Laguna Seca and Sears Point Raceways. He loves tinkering with his classic Porsche as well as a continued passion for food and creative cooking, and makes sure there is still time to work off that passion while playing tennis or road cycling with Elaine and friends.
As an adult, probably hiking the Kalalau Trail on the Na Pali Coast on the north shore of Kauai. It's 35km round trip, rugged, almost never level, narrow and cliff-side in many places. It also happens to be arguably one of the most beautiful places on this planet.
First off, I really don't like that question. To me, if once achieved, it's all over! So my list is always changing and growing — it's alive.
Pizza. But not any pizza — Neapolitan style, thin, chewy, charred, bubbly crust kind, cooked at 800 degrees on stone, no more than 4 toppings... and maybe cannoli from Mike's Pastry in Boston's North End.
I'd have to say I was a co-creator of the modern snowboard. I grew up in Montreal, where the winters kind of put the brakes on skateboarding, which I was fanatical about, so naturally we had to figure out the snow version. A co-skater friend of mine and I built and tried tons of designs and prototypes.
Flying private, and racing cars in California.
